ISO Latin-1 or ISO8859-1 is a character set designated by the International Standards Organization. This set contains the Roman alphabet commonly used worldwide. This is also the first version of this standard. ISO Latin-1 is composed of two types of entities --character and numeric. For a complete list of the ISO Latin-1 character set with all the defined entities, please see ISOLATIN.txt.
To take advantage of the ISO Latin-1 character set within a Web document, simply use character or numeric entity for the desired character. You should note that you don't need to use entities when using standard aA-zZ letters, numerals 0-1, or periods, commas, semicolons and colons.
